  1. Who is eligible for the scholarship?

The scholarship is need-based, so we ask that only people with financial hardship apply.

  2. When is the last day to apply for the scholarship?

The final day to apply for the scholarship is May 10, 2021 at midnight EST.

  3. How are decisions made on the winners?

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by Summer Rayne and her team and will be evaluated on completeness, grammar, merit, interest, expressiveness, and need.

  4. How will the scholarship application be used?

The information in the scholarship application will only be used to make a decision on winners of the scholarship. Otherwise, your privacy is a top priority to us. Unless we’ve first notified you and gotten your consent, you’ll never receive communication from any third parties related to personal information you give us.

  5. When will the scholarship winners be chosen? How will they be notified?

Applications will be reviewed from May 11, 2021 through to June 10, 2021 and winners will be contacted on Jun 11, 2021. However, regardless of whether you win or not, all applicants who have submitted a complete application will be notified. Please note that no winner will be announced publicly to respect each individual’s privacy. All applicants will be notified by email, so it’s important that applicants ensure that their email is correct before submitting the application.

  6. In what timeframe do the winning applicants have to respond to accept the scholarship?

Each winning applicant has 1 week from the date of notification to respond receipt of our notice.

  7. If I am a winner, am I expected to complete the Masterclass within a designated timeframe?

We ask that all applicants be committed to complete the Houseplant Masterclass in its entirety on or before the end of 2021. If they do not, registration in the course will expire. We do, however, understand if there are unusual or unexpected circumstances, so if that may be the case, winners can ask for an extension with an explanation in writing.

  8. I don’t live in the United States, can I still apply?

Yes. Anyone in the world can apply. We only ask for applicants to be honest and only those people who are facing financial hardship apply. We want to give those in need the opportunity to do the Masterclass.

  9. I’m not a student, can I still apply?

Yes. It doesn’t matter what age you are. Anyone at any age can apply for the scholarship.

  10. Can I know what questions you want to know in advance?

Yes. Questions are included in the section above on this page with the required word count. Please note that all questions must be answered in their entirety. Any required question left blank or incomplete will automatically disqualify the applicant.

  11. How will the scholarship be administered?

Winners will be given a complementary code to the Houseplant Masterclass. There will be no monetary exchange between us and the recipient. Scholarship recipients will have until December 31, 2021 to redeem the code. If the code is not redeemed before that time, it will be given to another applicant the following year.

  12. Will you announce the scholarship winners?
Winners will be notified privately but names will not be shared publicly to respect the privacy of applicants. If a recipient of the scholarship wants to make an announcement publicly, they are more than free to do so.
